Album Review: FADE AWAAYS Self-Titled EP

For Fans Of: Twin Peaks, King Creep, The Strokes

Favorite Tracks: Who Knows, Voodoo Girl

The first time I ever saw this band play was in a church basement (ex-Operators), and now they are heading out on a 4 city/4 show tour with Toronto’s Goodbye Honolulu. It’s been a week since the Fried RecordsROACHELLA happened at Smiling Buddha and we just can’t wait for more.

A recent name change and a released EP is all that Fade Awaays needs to draw in more listeners. Released on Fried Records, Toronto natives Reid MacMaster (guitar/vocals), Sean Hackl (guitar/vocals), Duncan Briggs (bass/vocals), and Kole Knezic (drums) bring a unique vibe to the scene. The emotion in their voices mixed with the beat of the drums and some deep bass riffs are real.

Self-titled EP ‘FADE AWAAYS’ is a mix of new and old songs. Classics including Voodoo Girl and Nima, followed by Feelings Don’t Show and Get Along. This is definitely not an album to be sleeping on. Alternative garage rock is a genre to live by in Toronto.
